Michael Lobue is a 2018 RHP/SS with a 5-9 159 lb. frame from Beaverton, OR who attends Century HS. Smaller, lean frame with present lower half strength. On the mound shows a back turn delivery with some cross body arm action on release. Shows a long, loose arm action from a mid 3/4 slot, flashes a low 3/4 slot at times as well. Pounds the zone with a fastball showing some arm side run ranging from 74-76 mph. Flashes a short slider with some tightness along with the ability to throw for strikes often, topped at 67 mph. Maintained velocity and movement through each inning of work. Delivery and arm action has some deception with moving parts. Tends to show the baseball early at times. Right handed hitter with a crouched, slightly open stance and forward hand set. Shows a quick and simple line drive swing plane with some hand speed that produces consistent, hard contact to the middle of the field. Barrel is late through the zone at times due to the forward had set at load. Worked out defensively from the infield. Shows good first step quickness and surrounds the ball well out in front. Smooth glove to hand transitions with a longer seperation into throws. Throw were accurate and online topping at 74 mph across the infield. Solid tool set for a 2018 and should continue to improve with physical development. Very good student as well.
