Austin Porter is a 2019 OF/RHP, MIF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Simi Valley, CA who attends Simi Valley. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.08 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with athletic, fundamentally sound footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions and pick up and worked through exchange efficiently. Displayed a quick arm at release and generated accurate, on line carry to the bag at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, balanced stance and high hand set. Created good shift into contact while utilizing a slightly lifted plane through extension. Showed present bat speed through the zone with a line drive approach that produced consistent hard contact to the middle of the field. Also pitched showing a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays square with hips at gather and worked to the plate with drop and drive actions. Compact arm circle at take back and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Fastball came out of have cleanly created some downward plane with cutting action to glove side, topped at 74 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with solid spin and good depth in the low 60's. Consistently looked to challenge the zone early in counts with fastball before change speeds late with breaking ball. Excellent student.
