Chazen Hurd is a 2016 C with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from McCleary, WA who attends Elma HS. Large frame with solid build. Right handed hitter with a straight, balanced stance. Shows a longer line drive swing path with some strength that can reach the gaps. Best contact comes on pitches middle in. Has a tendecy to cut off bat path with pitches on the outer third of the plate. Worked out defensively from behind the plate with a narrow base and taller set. Receives with two hands out front with a longer arm circle back. Throws from a tall stance with a short arm action topping at 65 mph to second. Best pop of 2.39. Skills will continue to develop with future mechanical refinement and fludity. Good student as well.
