John McGowan is a 2019 C/RHP, 1B with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Ruxton, MD who attends Gilman. XL frame with highly projectable build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.89 seconds. Hits from wide-spread, squatted stance with long stride, lengthens hands into load, line drive swing plane, shows ability to cover the plate and work to all fields. Primary catcher, deep set, stands to throw, shows general accuracy to 2nd base, clocked up to 65 mph. Also took reps at first base, showed ability to field cleanly and make pivot throws, clocked up to 66 mph. Also pitched; quick leg lift into delivery, longer arm stroke, fastball worked 63-67 mph with good command. Pounded the zone. Excellent student.
