Alex Vaughan is a 2019 C/OF with a 5-8 160 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Woodward Academy. Recorded a 7.51 second 60-yard dash time. Medium build with a lean frame and room to fill out. Primary catcher with a balanced, even stance. Slight recoil at release with a quick and clean glove circle. Exchanges work well with deliberate actions behind the dish. Secondary outfielder with smooth fielding actions and a tight arm circle and release. Online throws with solid carry and accurate to the base. Righthanded hitter with an even, slightly crouched stance. High hand set with a high back elbow and a simple leg lift trigger into contact. Linear weight shift through the point of extension with a direct path to contact. Lofted swing plane and flashed some feel for the barrel of the bat. Balanced and in control with an easy trigger into contact. Fluidity to the overall swing and projects nicely. Tremendous student.
