Andrew Biertzer is a 2019 LHP/ with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from West Bend, WI who attends West Bend West. Large frame with a lean, athletic build and wiry strength. Projects for additional size with strength. Primary left handed pitcher with a smooth paced, side step to high leg kick delivery. Stays tall on back side at gather and utilized lower half while driving in line to the plate through finish. Released from a long, loose three-quarters arm slot that generated good extension out front at finish. Fastball came out of hand cleanly with solid downhill angle to the plate, topped at 82mph. Showed good feel for fastball offering with the ability to spot to the outside edge of the plate. Curveball had proper shape with loose spin and occasional depth. Also flashed a changeup with some fading action to arm side in the mid 70's. Poised and focused presence while on the mound with a good knowledge for pitching. Good student as well.
