Alex Sniffen is a 2019 3B/RHP, 1B, OF with a 6-4 225 lb. frame from Wilmington, NC who attends New Hanover HS. Broad shouldered and extra large frame. Primary third baseman with a full arm path through release. Fields the ball well out in front and takes short, sure steps to the ball. Arm strength recorded up to 84 mph with easy carry on throws. Secondary righthanded pitcher with a higher three-quarter arm slot. Full arm action with an online landing leg. Stays tall on the backside with a hip turn at the top. Fastball recorded up to 84 mph with short cutting life to the pitch. Showed three pitches with feel for the breaking ball. Can throw the breaking ball for strikes and has confidence in the pitch. Righthanded hitter with an inside path to contact. Upper half heavy swing with very good strength through the point of contact. High hand set with a high back elbow and can impact the ball hard; makes for intriguing power ceiling. Good student.
