Jacob Sharp is a 2020 OF/RHP, C with a 5-8 170 lb. frame from Whittier, CA who attends La Mirada. Ran a 7.35 second sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with an athletic frame. Developing approach to the ball, with a short and quick arm action after gather. Some present arm strength from the outfield with accurate throws up to 87 miles per hour. Secondary catcher that from a low stance. Quick and efficient feet that replace well, and the short arm action comes from right behind the ear. 1.96 second pop time and some present arm strength up to 79 miles per hour. Upright, even stance at the plate, working to a tall front side at contact. Loose hand path with a line drive barrel plane, shows some present hand speed through the zone and good feel for the barrel. Middle of the field approach and consistently squares up balls on a line. High contact hitter than can hit for more power as the lower half is used more. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a smooth and slow delivery. Has good balance at leg lift, staying closed and creating good linear direction at foot strike. Short and loose arm action from a three-quarters slot. Flashes some control and command of a fastball at 85-to-88 miles per hour. Developing command of a curveball with 10-to-4 shape at 72 miles per hour, and pairs that well with late fading changeup at 78 miles per hour. Named to 2019 Sunshine West Showcase, Top Prospect List.
