Mason Morris is a 2022 SS/RHP, 3B with a 6-5 220 lb. frame from Tupelo, MS who attends Tupelo. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.13 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front, deliberate actions in the dirt, some bend at waist, shows solid arm strength and carry on throws across the diamond, has the arm to play third base at the next level. Also pitched, two-way potential; full hands-over-head delivery, high leg lift up past belt with measured tempo, full and quick arm action through the back working to a higher slot at release. Fastball comes out of hand well, topped out at 91 mph with some downhill plane, mixed a curveball up to 79 mph with high spin and depth through the zone. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base and a high hand set at the plate; double toe tap trigger moving into contact. Present bat speed through the zone with fluidity, does a nice job of incorporating lower half and getting extended out front. Loads hands back at start of swing, keeps hands inside the ball, physical strength plays well at point of contact, ball jumps and projects for plenty more power moving forward. Good student. Verbal commitment to Mississippi.
