Sean McGivern is a 2020 C/1B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from Stoughton, MA who attends Lawrence Academy. Primary catcher, large frame with athletic build and present strength, 8.18 runner in the 60-yard dash. Sets low and receives well, quick feet to get into position to throw, longer full arm action with on line accuracy to the bases. Hits from an even, wider base and a slight crouch, has high hand set with an elevated back elbow position. Strides to slightly closed with a big weight transfer into contact. Pull side power approach at the plate that flashes good bat speed and slight lift to the bat path through the zone. Looks to create extension out front with leverage and strength in the swing. Good student.
