Jacob Jones is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Tonawanda, NY who attends St. Joseph Collegiate Institute. Large, athletic frame with long limbs and broad shoulders, present strength to frame and additional room to fill out moving forward. Ran a 7.55 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short steps moving towards the ball, fields the ball to side and shows a quick transfer, full arm action through the back and shows a quick release, shorter arm action, front side opens early prior to throwing, upright finish, arm strength will continue to develop with additional lower half implemented. Also pitched and graded out higher in this look, loose delivery on the mound and varied arm slots working from lower three-quarters to high three-quarters. High leg lift at top of delivery, shorter stride down the mound, worked exclusively off his fastball and threw it for strikes, topping out at 75 mph. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide, bent knee stance and lower hand set and high back elbow at the plate. Simple set up at the plate and uses a leg lift trigger for timing, upper body dominant swing, stays inside the ball with line drive contact off the barrel. Contact approach, works the opposite field, short finish through the ball.
