Primary catcher, Cannon worked out behind the plate with a side saddle set position, and received pitches out in front with two hands. Compact and developing arm action that will get quicker with further development yet did produce a pop time in drills at 2.00 seconds with accuracy to bases. Fastball was up to 75 mph with arm side run which he used to fill the zone and miss a lot of barrels in game action. Off-speed deliveries were a curveball up to 69 mph with some correct spin, and a change up at 70 mph with good fade and drop. At the plate , he is a righthanded hitter who uses an open, wide stance in the box. Keeps his hands low and has a rotational swing that displayed some hand-eye coordination and the ability to work up the middle with regularity and some lift.
