Jake Berry is a 2020 LHP/1B with a 6-10 225 lb. frame from Great Falls, VA who attends Bishop O'Connell. Extremely long and tall build, listed height is very legit. Long hooked arm action in back coming to a high 3/4's arm slot, gets outstanding extension out front on release with plenty of downhill plane. Fastball topped out at 91 mph, velocity plays way up due to his extreme extension, fastball has late life as well, hitters didn't get swings at mid-plate fastballs. Big sweeping curveball shows good feel, also flashed nice fading action on his change up. Perfect prospect to have patience with and see how much he improves as he gets stronger and more physically mature. Good student, verbal commitment to Virginia.
