Landon Hayes is a 2020 RHP/3B with a 6-1 183 lb. frame from Magee, MS who attends Magee High School. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, projectable build with room to add additional strength. Ran a 7.61 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows a smooth delivery and sound glove side mechanics, stays on line towards the plate and can continue to incorporate additional lower half into drive. Shows arm speed through the back working to a high three-quarters release point, fastball topped out at 80 mph and lived around the zone while showing running life. Able to induce ground ball contact, generates extension out front. Maintains arm speed well on changeup and shows short fading life at 69 mph. Will continue to develop consistent release point on curveball, short depth with 11-5 life at 62 mph. Fields the ball out front in the infield with a wide base, shows ability to throw from multiple release points accurately while staying short through the back. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow in the box, utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing. Shows nice bat speed through the zone and uses hands well, able to generate extension out front and shows carry off the barrel. Looks to drive the ball and creates leverage at point of contact when on time, projectable build to grow into and continue to add strength to swing. Very good student.
