Carter Boyd is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Lewisville, NC who attends Reagan. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned throughout. Right-handed hitter, begins with a short take back out of the glove and shows quickness to arm action, works to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 90 mph, shows heavy life at the bottom of the zone and filled it up, some ease to operation and velocity project moving forward. Slider is a quality secondary option and he shows a feel for the pitch, late bite with downer shape up to 79 mph and able to miss bats with it. Lower slot on throws across the infield, deliberate tempo and pace to actions, will continue to refine moving forward. Right-handed hitter, begins with a medium hand set and a high back elbow; keep hands inside the ball throughout swing and shows present quickness to them coming through, employs a gap-to-gap approach, shows carry off of the barrel when squared and out front.
