John Almenares is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 5-11 186 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends G. Holmes Braddock HS. Medium athletic build with good present strength. Switch-hitter, aggressive hitter who swings hard and looks to drive the ball, uphill swing plane, tends to get off balance with effort in swing, better present bat speed from the right side. Long arm action in the outfield, picks up the ball cleanly, uphill trajectory to his throws. Also pitched, sound on-line delivery with good pace from a 3/4's arm lot, repeats mechanics well. Mid-70's fastball, mostly straight, has nice feel for his curveball with some 11/5 depth, filled up the zone with both pitches.
