2016 California Underclass Showcase
Aaron Treloar is a 2018 3B/RHP with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Pasadena, CA who attends St Francis. Large frame with a solid build and beginnings of strength. Projects for additional size and strength with continued physical maturity. Ran a 7.43 sixty yard dash. Primary third baseman, works to baseball with aggressive footwork while surrounding. Clean glove actions while funneling with clean glove to hand exchanges while working through transition. Flashed good first step quickness with developing range to each side. Flashed very athletic actions while moving to glove side and throwing on the run. Flashed the ability to change arm angles when throwing across the infield with accuracy. Throws generated solid on line carry to the bag topping at 81 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a crouched, open stance. Lower half launches to contact with linear actions to a tall front side hitting position. Barrel shows some smoothness throughout the zone on a naturally leveraged plane through extension. Ball jumps off barrel well with the bat speed and strength to drive the baseball through the outfield gaps when on time. Consistently produced hard, loud contact throughout batting practice to all fields. Also pitched showing a high energy, side step delivery. Stays balanced at gather and drives to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Deep arm circle back at separation and releases from a mid three-quarters arm slot. Fastball flashed good life out of hand with developing command to each edge of the plate between 76-81 miles per hour. Slider has 9/4 shape with solid rotation and good sweep to glove side. Flashed the ability to work to edges of the plate when maintaining tempo and repeating arm action. Higher ceiling as a third base prospect at this time. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Good student. Named to the 2016 Cal Underclass Top Prospect List.
