Owen Bruce is a 2020 RHP/OF with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from Oxford, MS who attends Oxford. Long, lanky build with long limbs and room to fill out. Ran a 7.55 second sixty-yard dash. Primary right handed pitcher. Employs a small side step to belt high leg lift with a slight hip coil at gather going to drop and drive actions down the mound landing online with the plate and staying online through finish. Flashed a short arm circle in the back hiding the ball well from hitters going to a high three-quarter slot at release creating a significant amount of downhill plane. Displayed a fastball with high levels of arm side run and some sinking action up to 83 MPH complemented with a 11/5 curveball with good break and feel for the zone at 71 MPH. Also worked out defensively in the outfield. Displayed solid footwork working to and through the baseball with deliberate actions. Showed good glove actions while fielding the ball in the outfield. Flashed clean transfers into throws with good arm strength and accurate carry to the bases topping out at 84 MPH from the outfield. Right handed hitter. Employs an even stance with a sweeping leg lift trigger. Showed a line drive plane to and through the baseball with good bat speed creating consistently driven line drives to all fields. Showed the ability to create loud jump off the barrel to and through the gaps in the outfield when on time and squared. Great student. Named to the 2019 National Academic Top Prospect List.
