Jack Sharghi is a 2022 1B/LHP, OF with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Astoria, NY who attends Archbishop Molloy. Large, square shouldered frame with a higher waist and present strength to frame. Ran a 7.86 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front, young actions away from the bag, long arm action through the back, upright release and shows carry, accuracy across. Also pitched, worked exclusively out of the stretch, leg lift up to belt with slight pause and gathers on backside; full arm action through the back working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, short life to the pitch down in the zone and missed bats, worked around the zone and pitched exclusively off of the fastball. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a longer stride moving into contact with lower half. Shows quickness to hands and stays short to the ball, projects with additional extension in swing, comfort working to all parts of the field, front side occasionally opens early. Very good student.
