Colby Shade is a 2020 OF with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Windsor, CO who attends Fort Collins. Long and slender athletic build, lots of room to get stronger, projects well physically. Did not run the sixty at this event but ran a 6.37 at a recent Perfect Game Showcase in Colorado. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a leg lift trigger, has an easy low tension swing with quick hands to start his swing and a line drive swing plane, ball comes off the barrel hard, simple repeatable mechanics, will stay on his backside a bit at times, projectable bat speed as he continues to mature physically. Fields the ball tall in the outfield with a tall release, can get his lower half into his throws better, makes accurate throws with more arm strength there with adjustments. Good student, verbal commitment to Virginia.
