Jarrett May is a 2019 1B/RHP with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Middlesex, NJ who attends Middlesex High School. Extra-large, broad shouldered build with present strength proportioned well throughout, incorporates that strength well into approach. Ran a 5.41 40-yard dash. Primary first baseman, smooth glove skills out front and stays down well into gather, shows balance on turn, full and clean arm action and gets on top of throws, arm strength will continue to develop, accuracy on throws across. Also pitched, short side step into a higher leg lift, clean takeaway into a loose arm action, hides the ball well and works to a high three-quarters release point. Works slightly across body and could continue to incorporate additional lower half. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, mostly straight with occasional sink, comes out of hand easy. Filled up the zone and flashed a curveball up to 68 mph, able to induce ground ball contact. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Remains short and simple with swing, limited moving parts and repeats mechanics. Could unlocked even more strength with addtional lower half, creates extension and shows ability to create backspin with lift at point of contact. Worked middle and pull side parts of the field, quick hands and remained balanced throughout.
