Bryce Lewis is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Moody, AL who attends Moody. Medium, athletic frame with long and lean build; highly projectable body moving forward. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.52 seconds. Primary left-handed pitcher, high leg lift past belt-height to start delivery, coils hips inward at balance point, quick arm with full arm stroke though the back up to extended three quarters arm slot. Fastball worked 75-79 MPH, topping at 80 MPH, with short running life to the arm side through the zone. Showed changeup with fading action out of hand and good velocity differential from fastball, also worked in a 1/7-shaped curveball with good spin and depth. Did a good job pitching to contact and allowing his defense to work behind him. Sets up to hit from upright stance with high hands and back elbow, very active hands through load with big leg lift trigger, shows good hip torque with weight shift forward into swing, quick hands resulting in consistent line drive contact back up the middle. Pretty quality hitting mechanics and ability. Worked out defensively in the outfield, takes quick steps to the ball and repeats footwork throughout, fields cleanly off front side and works through into quick release, arm strength clocked up to 73 MPH. Very good student.
