AJ Jones is a 2020 SS/1B, 3B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Nashville, NC who attends Southern Nash. Medium frame with athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.16 seconds. Hits from slightly open, spread stance, sees the ball deep, works the other way well, compact bat speed through the zone, will get inside-out at times, sinks into hips well, showed whole-field approach with solid contact skills. Primary infielder, solid athleticism for size, works under the ball, gets body moving into throws, clocked up to 81 mph across. Also took first base reps, athletic movements on and off of bag, turns well, clocked up to 83 mph on throws. Excellent student.
