Nick Dato is a 2020 RHP/2B with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Milton, GA who attends Cambridge. Large frame with plenty of projection. Broad chest with present strength in build. Ran a 7.22 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a fluid rocker step delivery into a leg lift above the waist. Lands slightly closed off down the mound creating some deception with crossfire mechanics. Deceptive low three-quarters to side arm release from a smaller take back. Adds some cutting action on occasional but mostly sink at 74 MPH. Sweeping slider with a 10-to-4 shape that is tough on righthanded hitters. Also worked out defensively from the infield. Fields a bit underneath with a funnel in. Clean glove actions into exchanges. Low slot with some carry to the bag at 80 MPH. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance and leg lift trigger for timing. Line drive plane through the zone staying on the backside well. Very good student as well.
