Elijah Zervos is a 2020 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Orlando, FL who attends Lake Nona. Medium frame with an athletic build. Primary left handed pitcher with a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays tall on back side with slight coil over back leg. Works to the plate with drop and drive lower half actions. Tends to land on a slightly closed front side. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a lower three-quarters arm slot. Fastball generated some natural running action back to arm side in the low to mid 70's, topped at 74 miles per hour. Slider flashed 2/8 shape with looser spin and good sweep to glove side. Displayed developing feel for the edges of the zone with both offerings. Primarily looked to locate down in the zone and challenge hitters. Also worked out defensively from the outfield and first base. From first base showed deliberate footwork while centering the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and working through exchange with developing fluidity. Released from a three-quarters slot topping at 79 miles per hour. From the outfield utilized smooth paced footwork while closing to the baseball. Stiffer actions while working through the baseball at pick up. Throws generated some on line carry to the bag topping at 77 miles per hour. Left handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Created some linear shift into contact with lower half. Loose hand path to baseball with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Primarily looked to stay inside the baseball at contact and work to the middle of the field and the other way. Good student as well.
