Andy Lopez is a 2017 C/3B with a 6-3 230 lb. frame from Chicago, IL who attends Brother Rice. Large frame with present strength throughout. Ran a 7.86 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher, slightly higher set while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground with footwork while working throughout transition. Clean exchanges through transfer and releases with a quick arm action. Showed solid arm strength with some carry and developing accuracy, topping at 74 mph. Best workout poptime of 2.01. Right handed hitter with a spread stance and leg lift trigger. Creates some shift into contact with aggresive lower half actions. Shows present bat speed to contact with a compact path through the zone. Creates good extension through contact with the ability to use all fields. Creates solid jump off the barrel with backspin when working to the opposite field gap. Good student as well.
