Christopher Borter is a 2019 SS/2B with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Fairfield, CT who attends Hopkins. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 4.18 30-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, fields the ball out front with a wide base, works through the ball well with lower half with short steps, light on feet, shows quickness to arm and can throw accurately from multiple arm slots. Also pitched, full arm action through the back, works to a lower three-quarters release point and creates angle, lands on line and clears front side well. Effort at release, topped out at 78 mph with fastball and filled up the strike zone, showed both a changeup and curveball, short depth on the breaker at 65 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a medium hand set and high back elbow at the plate, utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing. Shows balance, has timing mechanisms that need to align and able to do so, shows feel for the barrel with a linear swing path, line drive contact to pull side when squared up. Very good student.
