Beau Bates is a 2019 OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from Caledonia, MS who attends Caledonia HS. Slender young athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Very good runner, 6.72 in the sixty, has good athleticism through the ball in the outfield, loose and clean arm action, makes on like accurate throws, solid overall defensive skills, centerfield tools. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight and tall stance with a high hand load, simple direct path to the ball, high contact middle of the field approach, has some bat speed with more to come. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot with a compact arm in back, throws over a hard front side. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, mostly straight with occasional sink, did not show a secondary pitch. Good student.
