Kyle Schwulst is a 2018 RHP/1B with a 6-4 155 lb. frame from Aurora, CO who attends Regis Jesuit. Large, tall frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional size with strength. Primary right handed pitcher with with a simple side step to leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side at gather and utilizes lower half well while driving to the plate. Slight hook in back at separation and released from a long three-quarters arm slot. Generated occasional sinking action down in the zone with fastball that sat in the low to mid 70's, topped at 77 miles per hour. Curveball had proper shape with some spin and solid depth in the low 60's. Maintained arm speed with a changeup offering that created deceptive sink in the upper 60's. Consistently filled the zone while changing speeds, effectively kept hitters off balance. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Stays on back side throughout swing with rotational lower half actions. Barrel came through the zone on a lofted plane and primarily utilized a mid field, line drive approach. Good student as well.
