Alvaro Ortega is a 2019 RHP/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from South El Monte, CA who attends Los Altos HS. Strong athletic build. Simple delivery with a compact arm action, stays under control and repeats his mechanics well. Fastball topped out at 75 mph, gets lots of both running and cutting life on his fastball at different times, fills up the zone and challenges hitters. Has confidence in his curveball and will throw it at any count. Works quickly and throws strikes and depends on his defense to help him get outs.
