Michael O'Brien is a 2023 OF/LHP/1B with a 6-1 178 lb. frame from River Ridge, LA who attends John Curtis Christian. Long athletic frame with excellent projection to more strength. Primary outfielder, very athletic and active in the outfield, moves with ease and very good range, able to play behind the ball well and arm strength really plays to bags, up to 90 mph on throws and showed how well it plays in game action too. Also pitches, athletic with feel for a pair of good pitches, up to 84 with a fast arm, snaps off good slider at 2400+ RPMs, got a ton of swing-and-miss. Left-handed hitter, wide base and balanced process, lots of twitch to his swing and generates big bat speed, fast hands work the barrel out front with real intent and clears the front side enough to hammer some balls to the pull side, was all over the barrel in game action with hard hit balls all over the field. Really impressive event all-around, named the Top Prospect at the South TP Games. Verbal commitment to Mississippi State.
