Cameron Vercoe is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 5-9 150 lb. frame from San Tan Valley, AZ who attends Poston Butte High School. Younger player with a lean, slender build, narrow shoulders, athleticism, and room to continue to develop physically and add strength. Posted a 7.44 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary shortstop, showed quick footwork, stayed low through the ball, and charged well. Showed raw arm strength with ability to change arm slots. At the plate, started with an even base, wide stance, and a quick leg lift timing mechanism. Deeper hand load at start and worked pull side and up the middle. Linear swing plane with raw barrel feel. Will continue to improve at the plate with additional age and strength. Also pitched, started with a deeper hip turn, short arm action, landed open, and threw from a three quarter arm slot. Does not complete separation with limited drive to the plate. Fastball worked 70-73 mph and also mixed in a changeup that showed fade at 65 mph. Will continue to improve on the mound with mechanical adjustments and lower half drive. Exceptional student.
