Troy Batelman is a 2023 OF/RHP/2B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends Staten Island Academy. Medium, square shouldered frame with long levers and room to add strength. Recorded a 7.30 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary outfielder with aggressive footwork into the fielding process, fields it cleanly off to the side and carries some momentum into release. Transitions into the throwing motion with uphill movements, works into an over-the-top arm slot and recorded fairly accurate throws up to 79 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from a full windup delivery with a slightly coiled leg lift and good lower half movements down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 76 mph from an over-the-top arm slot. Proficient strike thrower with ability to use both sides of the plate effectively with his fastball. Mixed in slower 12-6 shaped curveball with gradual depth and had a tendency to telegraph when he was throwing it. Will continue to improve with mechanical refinements and additional velocity. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, even base with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Whole field approach with some feel for the barrel and consistent line drives throughout. Showed ability to turn quickly on the inner-half and occasionally impacted the baseball with some authority when on-time. Good Student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
