Yahir Ortiz is a 2022 OF with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Saint Cloud, FL who attends Central Pointe Christian. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Big time speed, posted a 6.38 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, takes short and deliberate steps towards the ball, works behind it, utilizes a longer arm stroke through the back to get to a higher slot, big arm strength on throws, speed and agility translates into actions, occasionally gets uphill with release, has tools and will continue to refine. Right-handed hitter, begins with an open stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; loads hands back at start of swing, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Direct to the ball upon launch, longer through the zone with plane, gets steep at times with path, can continue to implement additional weight shift through lower half, line drive contact when on time and shows comfort working to pull side. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
