Cyle Phelan is a 2021 LHP/1B with a 6-2 220 lb. frame from Fuquay Varina, NC who attends Fuquay-Varina. Big and strong athletic build, pretty mature physically. High 3/4's arm slot, creates good angle to the plate, tends to pull off his lower half with rotational delivery mechanics. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, has been up to 90 mph at previous PG events, mostly straight. Curveball was his best pitch in the mid-70's, created nice spin with power depth at times. Key to development on the mound will be improving his fastball command. Left handed hitter, rotational swing approach with some looseness to his hands and wrists, has the strength to drive the ball to the gaps, pull approach. Verbal Commitment to UNC-Wilmington.
