Jason Dumas is a 2024 2B/RHP, IF, OF with a 5-7 117 lb. frame from Lake City, FL who attends Columbia. Recorded a 7.38 second sixty-yard dash time. Small, slender frame with plenty of time and room to fill out. Primary infielder with a developing defensive skill set; uses anticipatory footwork into the fielding process, bending at the waist to field with two hands, while displaying good direction towards his target to throw. Recorded arm strength up to 70 mph across the diamond in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher with mechanically sound delivery and the ability to throw a ton of strikes. Incorporates simple windup with small rocker step into a belt high leg lift and short stride out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 60s throughout his outing, topping out at 71 mph in this look from an over-the-top arm slot. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and small leg lift trigger. Contact oriented swing with developing bat-to-ball skills. Whole field approach with slightly elongated swing path that will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Plenty of projection remaining with time to physically mature. Excellent Student.
