Brooks Baker is a 2024 OF/C, 1B with a 5-10 169 lb. frame from Fernandina Beach, FL who attends The Bolles. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength proportioned nicely throughout frame. Ran a 7.12 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, deliberate actions to and through the ball, takes shorter steps underway, longer arm action and can quicken release, shows accuracy to intended base, arm strength will continue to develop. Fields the ball out front at first base, extra step moving into release, aggressive footwork coming off the bag. Righthanded hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a toe tap trigger for timing in the box. Incorporates physical strength well into swing and looks to lift at point of contact, longer path through the zone. Gets front foot down and creates some extension out front, generating carry off the barrel to pull side when squared. Excellent student.
