Caleb Thornton is a 2023 RHP/3B, SS with a 6-1 140 lb. frame from Hahira, GA who attends Lowndes. He ran a 7.59 second sixty. A primary right-handed pitcher with a long lean frame showing room to fill moving forward. On the mound he starts with a short quick side step with good tempo through out his delivery and a high leg lift, the arm action is long and loose through the back stroke up to a high three-quarters arm slot, he sat 76-80 mph with his fastball working it to both halves of the plate, he showed a curveball with 11-5 shape as his secondary offering with tight spin and good bite in the upper 60's, he showed good feel for the mound as he pitched with a plan mixing the two offerings for strikes. At the plate, he starts his swing with a right-handed swing with a narrow base and leg lift trigger, the bat path works short to the inside part of the ball with developing bat speed and feel for the barrel. Good student.
