Kyle Calzadiaz is a 2022 RHP/OF with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Walnut, CA who attends Walnut. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and long limbs, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Right-handed pitcher, begins with a compact leg lift just up past belt, gets tall on backside, lands slightly closed with strike foot; online arm action through the backside with quickness working to a three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 90 mph, creates some extension out front, shows occasional running life to arm side and will continue to refine overall command. Curveball shows 11-5 shape with short depth up to 77 mph and flashed a changeup with deception and occasional fading life to arm side at 81 mph. Right-handed hitter, begins with a narrow stance, loads hands back at start of swing and utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Works on a mostly linear path through the zone, shows some jump off of the barrel to pull side and turns on it well, will get onto front side early at times, shorter finish through point of contact.
