Trevor Schmidt is a 2022 OF/LHP with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Anaheim Hills, CA who attends Servite. Large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to build, additional room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shorter strides with footwork moving towards the ball, deliberate tempo to actions, utilizes a crow hop but can continue to gain momentum into release, full arm action through the back, gets on top of throws. Also pitched, simple side step moving into a leg lift up to belt with hip turn at top; gets tall on backside before slight pause with lead leg prior to moving down the mound. Full and online arm action through the back working to a high three-quarters release point; gets on top and creates angle and plane to fastball which topped out at 77 mph. Filled the zone and shows a feel for mixing, curveball offers 1-7 shape with short depth, changeup shows fading action to arm side at 71 mph. Repeats delivery and release well. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an even stance and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Shows ability to repeat mechanics well, shorter to the ball with a full finish through point of contact. Shows occasional loft to swing, bat speed projects with added strength and looks to hit the ball out front, best contact to pull side. Very good student.
