Ty Koch is a 2023 MIF/1B, 3B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Sevierville, TN who attends Sevier County. Large frame with lean, athletic build. Ran a 7.14 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary second baseman, worked out in infield with and presented feel for the glove, working through the ball with one-hand gather to a clean transfer. Moves well laterally, ranging to either side with smooth actions. Arm takes a quick path to release and produced throws with accuracy and carry through the target at 76-mph. Right-handed hitter with narrow base and hands low outside his chest. Upon heel strike, activates his lower half well driving hits towards the mound, and then leads with the bat knob taking a short, compact swing path through the zone. Developing strength and bat speed yet result displays line-drive trajectory to the gap with extension present out front. Ability to hit pitches where they appear in the zone maintaining simplistic approach. Power will increase with future strength gain and continued repetition. Excellent student. Named to the 2022 Fall Southeast Showcase Top Performers List.
