Andrew Hunter is a 2019 RHP/1B, 3B with a 6-2 184 lb. frame from Las Vegas, NV who attends Arbor View. Large frame with long limbs and an athletic build. Primary right handed pitcher with a simple side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather with slight coil over back leg. Swings front side slightly and lands at a closed position at release. Loose arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters arm slot. Hides fastball well before release generating good downward angle through the zone in the mid 70's, topped at 78 miles per hour. Curveball had 10/5 shape with tight spin and hard depth when maintaining arm speed through extension. Also flashed a slider offering that had 9/4 shape with loose spin and some sweep to glove side in the mid 60's. Shows good feel for breaking ball and consistently delivered for strikes in both positive and negative counts. Also worked out defensively from the infield and first base showing smooth paced actions while centering the baseball. Moves well to each side and funnels the baseball cleanly. Released from a loose three-quarters arm slot generating accurate throws across the infield. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and simple leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose, extended hand path to contact with a slightly lifted plane through extension. Consistently looks to turn the barrel to contact and work to the middle of the field and pull side gap. Very good student as well.
