Laine Welch is a 2023 OF/RHP, 2B with a 5-8 150 lb. frame from Clarksville, TN who attends Clarksville. Lean young build. 6.96 runner in the sixty. Very sound fundamental outfielder, nice footwork transition into his throws, good hands out front, makes accurate throws with some on line carry. Right handed hitter, hits from a high hand start with a small toe top trigger into contact, short hand path, works to stay inside the ball but did a good job turning on the ball when he got the opportunity in the games, speed plays well on the bases, raw bat speed will continue to improve with additional strength. Also pitched, deep straight arm action in back with a high 3/4's arm slot, picks up the plate late with his eyes. Upper 70's curveball that he threw consistently for strikes, mixed in an occasional mid 60's curveball. Excellent student

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
