Alex Sosa is a 2023 C/3B/MIF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Viera, FL who attends Viera. Strong athletic build, durable catcher's build. 6.99 runner in the sixty. Has advanced footwork and lower half actions behind the plate defensively, gets out of his crouch very well, quick and clean exchange and release that he repeats very well. Left handed hitter, hits from a wife base with a high back elbow load, has quick hips and turns hard, gets to his front side but stays connected well, gets the ball in the air with some carry, plenty of future power potential. Very good student, verbal commitment to North Carolina State.
