Zachary Long is a 2020 C/1B with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Fuquay Varina, NC who attends Fuquay-Varina HS. Large frame with present strength and square shoulders. Ran a 7.29 second 60-yard dash. Worked out defensively as a primary catcher. Receives the ball out front with soft hands and catches into transitions. Quick footwork while coming out of the stance. Short and compact arm stroke with strength in arm topping out at 74 miles per hour and popping a 1.97 during workouts. Lefthanded hitter with an upright start and high hand set. Utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing. Looks to lift the ball with a power approach at the plate. Creates a solid swing plane and can really get some jump off the barrel when squared. Excellent student as well.
