Tyler Palmer is a 2020 OF/RHP, C, MIF with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from Columbus, NE who attends Scotus Central. Medium frame with long limbs and room to fill. Ran a 6.78 second 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, fields the baseball to the side with athletic actions, takes a short shuffle into his release, full arm action into throws producing good arm strength, accurate to the bag topping out at 86 mph from the outfield. Secondary middle infielder, solid round over all in the infield taking short steps to the baseball, hands play out in front, loses momentum some into throws with an upright release, showed similar arm strength as in the outfield. Also pitched, well-paced delivery with a short rocker step and a leg lift to his belt line to start, compact arm action up to a high 3/4 arm slot, gets on top of the baseball and gets his arm through on time repeatedly, works fastball to both sides of the plate and can mix three pitches for strikes, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, would like to see arm speed maintained on the changeup. Switch hitter, from the left side sets up with a narrow and upright stance with a small stride into contact, compact stroke drifting into impact, from the right side sets up with a narrow base and high hand set, leg lift trigger used for timing, direct to the baseball with rotational actions. Great student.
