Mel Rubiera is a 2023 OF/LHP with a 5-9 170 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends ESB Academy. Recorded a 7.02 second 60-yard dash time. Athletic build with some physicality present. Primary outfielder with online throws and moves well in the outfield. Solid arm strength up to 84 mph into the infield. Longer arm stroke and keeps the ball down with good accuracy and maintains mechanics well. Left-handed hitter with a high hand set, high back elbow and a line drive oriented stroke. Gets into his lower half well and loads properly. Solid bat to ball skills with an accurate barrel. Has some strength off the barrel but true all fields approach with the contact skills for a leadoff profile. Good student. Committed to Florida International. Named to the SS East TP List.
