Colby Vanhook is a 2024 RHP/3B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Concord, NC who attends Hickory Grove Christian. Physical build with good present strength, pretty mature for his age. Side step delivery with a full arm swing in back and a big hip turn over the rubber, gets back on line well, high 3/4's arm slot, repeats his mechanics well. Fastball worked up to 85 mph, mostly straight and thrown to spots with some intent. Slider was a very good pitch for him, short and tight break, has feel for locating the pitch both in and out of the strikes zone. Also threw a nice change up with arm speed and life. Threw three different pitches for strikes and got swing/miss on all of them. High performance pitcher who is going to win lots of games. Good student. Named to the Carolina Top Prospect Games Top Prospect List.
