Michael (Jake) Barker is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Jacksonville, FL who attends Episcopal. Medium to large physical build. Primary pitcher, has a longer arm action with a hitch from a three-quarters slot. Side steps into a lower leg lift from the windup. Fastball up to 76 mph, looks to establish it early and works it to both sides of the plate. Also throws a curveball and a separate slider. Curveball has a high 11-to-5 shape and comes in around 64 mph. Slider has more of a low 11-to-5 shape and sits around 67 mph. At the plate, uses an upright and even stance with a simple stride trigger. Gets out on his front side through extension. Looks to use the middle of the field, great student in the classroom as well.
