John Michael Ramirez is a 2022 RHP/C/IF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from San Antonio, TX who attends Brandeis. Strong athletic build. Upper body delivery, can use his strong lower half better in his delivery, compact arm action with an over the top release slot, good extension out front, hides the ball well from hitter. Fastball topped out at 87 mph, best velocity is from the wind up, mostly straight. Slider was his best pitch, improves the harder he throws it with short biting finish that gets under barrels. Showed some feel for his change up, tunneled all three pitches well to further his deception. Posted a solid 3 inning outing. Right handed hitter, hits from a straight stance with a very short and direct swing, hand drive swing with same lack of lower half drive as on the mound, has more power and bat speed in there, solid mid field line drive contact, projects some as a hitter. Has a background as a catcher. Good student.
